Your guess is as good as mine on this wonderful old set of die cut (lithographic?) nursery rhyme/Mother Goose stand up figures. This is the second set over the years that I've found and it's been frustrating to try and ID it's origin. If you know something about it, PLEASE contact me. I think it's from the 1940's and came from a punch out book or punch play set. The colors are very vivid and it looks like litho printing. The art is exceptional and detailed. There are 37 pieces to create 6 different nursery rhymes. I am uncertain if this is complete or not. There are some taped repairs and the large pumpkin has a scrape by the lock. With a little artistic talent, that could be filled in. One of the lambs has a neck crease/tear and I had to repair Jack Sprat's wife. The rhyme's and pieces this lot consists of are: Jack and Jill (6pcs), Peter Pumpkin Eater (6pcs), Jack Sprat (6pcs), Old King Cole (4pcs), The Woman Who Lived in a Shoe (8pcs) and Little Bo Peep (7pcs). These saw very little play and most of the sands were never bent. All pieces are cardboard. Put together, like in the first photo, these could be beautiful framed. Please see photos for content and condition. All of the paper dolls that I offer are from estates and from other homes. I don't know the previous storage history. My collection is kept in a smoke/pet free area of my home with a dehumidifier running 24/7. I have a poor sense of smell at my age and am unable to detect odors. People smoked way back when, so that could linger and I would not be aware of it. I try and list all of the flaws with any paper dolls that I sell.
I only ship to the USA. I usually take orders to the post office on Tuesday and Friday mornings by 10AM eastern time.
