    Description

Incredible 20 year old Keith Birdsong original painting for the book cover of Star Trek: Spectre. The piece measure 18"x28" and is very unusual for a Birdsong painting as it has textured lunar craters dotted throughout, giving it a 3D effect. It also has three of the most popular Star Trek characters: Kirk, Spock, and Picard. The Spock is a spectral image of the rarely seen Mirror Universe goateed "evil" Spock: one of just a handful of times he was painted in a licensed piece. Although the characters are on just the right portion of the image area, the rest of the moon and small glimpse of space is still beautiful and worthy of display. Note that the image of Picard appears to have been modified on the printed cover, so it does not exactly match the painting.
note: there is a dent on the bottom left that is far from the images of the characters and detracts little from the piece.
