Star Trek: the First 25 Years
, by Gene Roddenberry and Susan Sackett (ISBN: 0671732331). The book contained hundreds of Star Trek-related photos and interviews and involved months of research. Unfortunately, Paramount axed the book because of copyright issues with some of the artwork.*

Birdsong is perhaps the most prolific and famous of artists for Star Trek authorized material. Many of his works are on display at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.
