Beautiful BrookeThis amazing sculpt by Hildegard Gunzel is shared by Anna Marie, Annalena and Brooke and
introduced in 2001 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Beatrice Potter’s first and most
famous book, Peter Rabbit.
Brooke is a self-standing, all vinyl 23” doll with rooted long brown hair and bright blue eyes.
Her coloring is beautifully subtle with a facial expression of sweet innocence.
Her multi layered outfit is all original and consists of a pastel plaid jumper of soft cotten over a
short sleeved cream dress. Her light blue sweater is decorated with embroidered rabbits and an
identifying Beatrice Potter Collection logo. Cream knit tights and white leather Mary Jane shoes
complete the look. Her COA hang tags have never been removed from her sweater and her Gotz
tag is on her right wrist.
Brooke is number 970 of a limited edition of 1,000 worldwide. Her back is engraved with the Gotz
name and her neck is etched with the sculpt number of 554, shared by the other two dolls in the set.
In closely examining her, the only imperfection I found was a very slight discoloration on her chest
that resulted from a burgundy blouse she was displayed in (see picture #12). She was only briefly
displayed in an enclosed etagere and otherwise lovingly packed away in my doll room. Her selling
price reflects this minor issue as she would normally list for much more.
As a bonus I am including a Hallmark "Tiny Tomes" book
The Life and Work of Beatrice Potter.
It measures 2"x2.5" and includes her history and drawings in a miniature format. (Picture #8)
I don’t have her boxes because I bought her from a dealer when she came out (I couldn’t wait to have
her mailed!) but she will be carefully wrapped and shipped in a sturdy box with insurance.
I love the sculpt of this collection and at one time I had all three dolls. Brooke was my favorite because
of her stunning coloring. I am only parting with her because, regrettably I must downsize my doll collection.
Brooke would be a beautiful and valuable addition to your collection.
